Franklin Park® Boerne Residents Go Home for the Holidays

For Barbara and Phil Jones, residents at Franklin Park® Boerne Assisted Living Community, nothing was more exciting to them than spending time together again at Thanksgiving with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They all came together from across the country for the first time in several years.

Mrs. Jones was ready to give and receive hugs that were long overdue. But she was equally excited about the food and fellowship she had been missing.

“I don’t cook anymore, so I am particularly looking forward to a few of my favorite holiday dishes like cornbread dressing, broccoli rice casserole, and pecan pie,” she said with a giggle.

The Jones’ have been in relatively good health and have been enjoying more activities in the senior living community, such as playing dominoes, bingo, and balloon volleyball. But being back in the presence of family was something that they look forward to at both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“Thanksgiving is our big family holiday, and we had a wonderful time and a great meal together,” Mrs. Jones said. “We even got to meet some of our new great-grandchildren.”

Franklin Park® Boerne is so fortunate to have Barbara and Phil as part of our community, and we thank them for sharing their story!
