COVID-19 Vaccine

Franklin Park® Senior Living communities are thrilled to be amongst the first in the country to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to our residents and employees.

All Franklin Park® Assisted Living and Memory Care communities have been administered both doses of the vaccine. Vaccine distribution for all Independent Living communities is set to be completed between February and March 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the COVID-19 Vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine will be free of charge to anyone who wants it regardless of whether they have private health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, or are uninsured. Some distribution sites may require an administration fee, but no one can be turned away if they are unable to pay that fee.
The current approved vaccinations require two doses to receive the most effectiveness. Franklin Park® Senior Living communities are receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which needs two doses to be administered 21 days apart.
The COVID-19 vaccine has gone through rigorous testing to ensure that it is as safe as possible. Most people do not have any severe side effects other than fatigue and minor pain or soreness at the injection site.
Both of the available COVID-19 vaccines are 95% effective—an extremely successful result. These vaccines will be instrumental in saving lives and producing herd immunity in communities.
Texas has currently separated vaccine distributions into phases based on age, job, and pre-existing conditions. We are now in Phase 1, which includes front-line workers and residents of long-term care facilities. For more information on the phases, visit the Texas Health and Human Services website.

Sanitizing Measures

We have implemented meticulous cleaning and sanitizing procedures in our communities, including sanitizing with the cutting-edge disinfectant, R-Water, multiple times a day. R-Water is a health-grade sanitizer that effectively kills the coronavirus and other viruses and bacterias.

We are also doing weekly surface testing for the presence of COVID-19 using Enviral Tech testing, which detects the presence of COVID-19 up to five days before symptoms appear and allows us to locate and isolate the source quickly.

Resident & Employee Health

Resident and employee health is always a priority, and we’ve been screening regularly per guidelines from local, state, and federal health agencies. We screen all residents, visitors, and employees as they enter the community with appropriate temperature testing and health questionnaires. We use both COVID-19 tests and discretion to determine if a resident should be quarantined.

Life Enrichment

Amongst all regulations and guidelines, we are dedicated to keeping residents fulfilled and engaged. Where possible, dining rooms have begun to open with limited seating. If this is not possible, meals are being served directly to the resident’s apartment and enhanced to ensure they are tasty and nutritious.

Our Life Enrichment activities have resumed with social distancing and sanitization measurements enforced. We’ve also begun allowing limitation visitations with increased safety measures, including window visits, outdoor visits, and indoor visits with masks required. We will continue to closely monitor community scenarios as well as local and state guidelines to help update our Life Enrichment program.

Franklin Park® Senior Living wants to thank our residents and their families for your continued trust and patience during this time.
