Signature Refreshing Waters® Memory Care Program

Franklin Park Senior Living’s signature program, Refreshing Waters® Memory Care, is designed to support those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as their families.

This program combines person-centered care, meaningful engagement, and purpose-built environments to support comfort, familiarity, and daily confidence. Our approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of each individual’s needs, abilities, and history.

Here, care is not only about safety and support. It is about listening, honoring, and creating moments of connection that bring comfort and meaning to each day.

Our Philosophy

Care that begins with understanding

Memory care is guided by the belief that each person’s experience is different. Care is shaped around individual history, preferences, and abilities, creating a sense of familiarity and stability throughout the day.

What is memory care?

Memory care is a specialized form of support designed for individuals living with cognitive challenges such as Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

At Franklin Park Senior Living in San Antonio, memory care means a thoughtfully designed environment, a specially trained team, and a daily rhythm built around familiarity, routine, and meaningful engagement.

Our Refreshing Waters program focuses on recognizing individuals first, supporting their abilities, and creating an environment where individuals feel safe, respected, and at ease. If you are navigating this decision, our team is available to answer questions, listen, and offer guidance with care and understanding.

Thoughtfully designed daily programming

Meaningful engagement is a central part of our Refreshing Waters® Memory Care program. Our team integrates a variety of activity formats into daily routines so that individuals can participate in ways that feel comfortable and engaging for them.

Each program is designed to support connection, stimulation, and a sense of purpose, while respecting personal preferences, abilities, and energy levels.

Our approach includes:

  • One-to-one activities: Designed for individuals who benefit from personal attention or who are more comfortable engaging privately.
  • Independent groups: Self-directed or lightly guided activities that allow individuals to participate at their own pace.
  • Small groups: Three or more individuals sharing an activity that encourages connection and conversation.
  • Large groups: Community-wide activities that foster a sense of belonging and shared experience.
  • Parallel programming: Multiple activities happening at the same time, allowing individuals to choose what feels most engaging to them.
  • Dual programming: Simultaneous options designed to keep individuals stimulated and involved based on their interests and abilities.

This layered approach allows our team to meet individuals where they are, adapt as needs change, and ensure that every day includes opportunities for engagement that feel meaningful, supportive, and respectful.
